CHARM / INSTALL HELP

Installing
CHARM.

The first time you open CHARM, your Mac or PC may ask whether it’s safe. It is. Here’s exactly what to click.

On a Mac.

You’ll need an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer) with macOS 14 or later. Apple hasn’t verified CHARM yet, so the first time you open it, macOS stops it and says it can’t check it. That’s expected, and CHARM is safe to open. You only need to do this once.

  1. Open the file you downloaded and drag Charm (or Charm PRO) into Applications.
  2. Open it from Applications. When macOS says it can’t verify the app, click Done (on older versions of macOS, OK). Don’t choose Move to Trash.
  3. Open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security. Next to the message that Charm was blocked, click Open Anyway.
  4. Confirm with your password or Touch ID, then click Open Anyway once more. CHARM opens, and your Mac remembers your choice.

If something looks different

On Windows.

You’ll need Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) or Windows 11 on a PC with an x64 processor. The Microsoft Store version installs without any warning. The installer from this website isn’t signed yet, so Windows or your antivirus may warn you the first time. That’s expected, and CHARM is safe.

  1. Open the installer you downloaded.
  2. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. If your antivirus asks about CHARM, choose to allow it. If it moved the installer to quarantine, restore it, or download it again from Your downloads.
  4. Follow the installer. CHARM opens when it finishes.

Still stuck?
